Real Stories. Real Change.
Help Us Redefine Disability,
One Voice at a Time.

At Advocating Voices for Awareness, formally known as Bachelors In Disability we strive to break down stereotypes that hinder inclusivity and employment opportunities for people with disabilities.

About The AVA Project

Creating Real Conversations Around Disability – With and Without Disabilities

Advocating Voices for Awareness (AVA) is a nonprofit led by young adults, many of whom live with disabilities ourselves. We believe that meaningful change begins with honest dialogue.

That's why we invite people without disabilities to ask the uncomfortable questions they’ve never felt safe asking– while giving space for people with disabilities to answer them with authenticity, respect, and their lived experience

We’re here to break stereotypes, bridge communities, and build a more inclusive culture through accessible storytelling, open dialogue, and education.

Misunderstanding and silence are still keeping people with disabilities out of conversations, opportunities and the workforce. We’re changing that.

Instead of speaking for people with disabilities, we speak with them.

We are a tax deductible 501(c)(3) nonprofit inviting you to be a part of something bigger– because real change starts with real conversation.

Our Purpose:

Our purpose is to educate employers and the public about disability inclusion through real stories and honest conversations.

We break down disability stereotypes by sharing short videos and blog posts written by disabled voices– offering insight, not pity.

Through asking tough questions, our hope is to create a space for respectful answers as we help people understand how to engage with disability in the workplace and everyday life.

Why We Are Unique:

We’re the first platform inviting employers and the public to ask real, sometimes uncomfortable questions about disability– without fear of judgement.

Then, instead of answering for disabled people, we let disabled writers speak for themselves through blog posts, videos and articles.

By making space for direct dialogue and disability awareness, we’re shifting the narrative– creating an inclusive community for those with and without disabilities.

Ask Your Questions

Curious about disability but unsure how to ask?

We invite people without disabilities to submit their real, unfiltered questions about disability and inclusion– but anonymously and without judgement. Whether you’re an employer, educator, parent or simply someone who wants to understand better, this is a safe space to ask questions you’re afraid to ask out loud.

By participating, you’re not only learning– you’re helping create a more open, inclusive world.

How We Answer

Your questions deserve real, honest answers.

We pair each anonymous question with a blogger or creator who lives with a disability and is ready to speak from personal experience. Their thoughtful responses come to life through original blog posts and video content shared on our inclusive disability blog and social platforms.

You’ll not only get authentic answers– you’ll hear them directly from people living the reality every day.
